The dinner table game

Dinner Roulette

Three reels, one dinner. Set the rule before you spin: whatever lands, gets cooked.

How long have you got?

Whatever lands, gets cooked.

House rules

  1. 01

    Agree before you pull

Whatever lands gets cooked. Deciding the rule first is what makes the answer stick.

  2. 02

    One veto per table

That is what “Not tonight” is for. Use it once, then honour the next pull.

  3. 03

    Set the clock first

Short on time? Choose Under 30 or Under 15 before you spin, not after.

  4. 04

    New is the point

If it lands on something you have never cooked, that is the roulette doing its job.

Questions

How does dinner roulette work?
Pull once and three reels stop in turn on a cuisine, a main ingredient and a cooking time. Together they point to one dinner, which appears underneath with the full recipe a tap away.
Is dinner roulette the same as a dinner wheel?
No. The Dinner Wheel spins a single ring of options and stops on one. Roulette decides three things at once, which suits a table where everyone has an opinion about a different part of dinner.
Can I skip what it lands on?
Yes. “Not tonight” pulls again and won’t land on the same dinner twice in one visit. The house rule is one veto per table, but nobody is checking.
